Gaggan & his somm are opening a wine bar at the old massage parlour next door

Remember that dark and slightly decrepit house next to Gaggan restaurant?  Yeah, we don’t either, but it was previously a massage parlour. Not a very profitable one it seems, well not until Anand Gaggan got his clutches onto it. And now Bangkok Foodies are the first to expose what will happen to it.

Our sources confirm that Anand Gaggan and his head Sommelier, Vladimir Kojic are teaming up to open a wine bar.

The final name and concept is unconfirmed, but Vlad’s is a lover of natural wine so the list will sure to have some sort of biodynamic and new-world wine focus.

We also hear that it’s not going to break the bank, which is a relief for those dropping their savings on a meal next door.

The massage parlour has since been abandoned for months and apparently needs a lot of work. The date of launch is expected to be in time for Vlad’s birthday on the 13th February, but with construction timing in Bangkok, that may just be a case of wishful thinking.

So it seems, although Anand Gaggan plans to exit in 2020, he is certainly dominating this sub soi of Lang Suan with his legacy.

Starting with his partnership with Chef Garima at Gaa, and his actual Gaggan restaurant which will be passed down to his Head Chef who will develop his own restaurant concept.

And now this mysterious massage-parlour-cum-wine-bar, will also bare the stamp of Gaggan, and currently keep us all in a terrible state of suspense.

Like I always say, love or hate his cuisine the man is a business genius.
