Sukhumvit Loses Daniel Thaiger Burger Truck but Gains a Kitchen
Daniel Thaiger Moves Truck from Sukhumvit Soi 30/1 to Silom Soi 8 and Opens a Kitchen Space in Phetchaburi to the Public
So here comes the bad news first, at least for the Bangkok Eastsiders: Daniel Thaiger Truck, the city’s most famous burger truck, until recently parked in Sukhumvit 30/1 will move to Silom soi 8. Honey Nualanong, the co-founder alongside Mark Falcioni, said in a public statement on their Facebook page; “
We will no longer be serving burgers on Sukhumvit 30/1, but don’t worry, we still have our outlets a few minutes away at the Commons on Thonglor 17 and our Sukhumvit 11 location!”

But what was not mentioned in this public announcement, but Bangkok Foodies got a whiff of, is that earlier this year, Daniel Thaiger quietly opened a central kitchen under Stax Co., Ltd. (the burger brand company in partnership with Chris Foo) located in Phetchaburi. The kitchen was established to facilitate their delivery service for hungry home dwellers hankering for a DT fix. Yet what many people may not know is that this discreet location is also open to the public to sit and relax while they wait for their pick-up order, and customers may even dine in at this tiny spot.

The cosy waiting area holds only one sofa and table, a fridge of sodas and (get this!) well working air conditioning! Foodies may even have the pleasure to peek through the windowed door to see where all the burger goodness magic is happening, and if you ask the owners really really nicely, you may be able to get a tour. This comes as a blessing for those foodies wanting to avoid the scrum of the malls or tourist trap strips who still want that semblance of edge and intimacy, close to what the burger truck in soi 30/1 Sukhumvit used to bring.

And for the Bangkok Southsiders who are eagerly anticipating this move, you can find Daniel Thaiger just a short walk from the Sala Daeng BTS station and parked right next to the Whiteline venue. The truck will be parked in an area that will allow for outdoor terrace seating and also an indoor seating area, just in time for the rainy season. The move will happen from June 1st, and will be open from 4:00pm to 11:00pm and closed every Monday.
