Bangkok has seen a burst of Vegan and Vegetarian focused food and beverage vendors who have created robust and full-flavoured dishes which could satisfy a devout meat-eater. The movement in Thailand has been such, that Thailand’s first and biggest sustainability and vegan festivalRoot The Future“, will hold at Sansiri Backyard on the October 17th & 18th from 2pm – 9pm. The weekend event will focus on plant-based foods, ethical products, sustainable shopping, vegan BBQs, workshops, panel discussions, movie screenings, talks and music, and we urge all Bangkok Foodies to check it out.

Yet, you don’t have to be full-time Vegans in Bangkok to enjoy tasty Vegan food but we discovered The Vegan Festival (15th – 25th October) is the most optimal time to indulge in all things plant-based and beyond. Although it conditions state, being full-fledged “Jeh” means abstaining from pungent foods such as onion and garlic, some of Bangkok’s most esteemed non-vegan-specific restaurants provide dishes or have developed special menus to accommodate those wanting to be part of the Vegan movement; whether the reason is for health, religion, trend or compassion for animals, we could all use a break from the hindrance that we place on the earth and environment by consuming meat. Bangkok Foodies compiled a list of restaurants and vendors jumping on the Vegans in Bangkok bandwagon for non-Vegan and Vegans to appreciate during the Vegan Festival in Thailand 2020.
