My Denmark Menu at Tables Grill

Bangkok Foodies Review – Tables Grill
Bangkok Foodies had the pleasure to enjoy Chef Kevin’s new menu, something very close to his heart, introducing “The Taste of My Denmark”. The recipes are inspired by his grandparents and sentimental family gatherings. I always find it thrilling to experience cuisine which is so deeply rooted in a chef’s culture and upbringing. Like cracking the eggshell of the chef’s mind and tasting the rich yolk of nostalgia.
This was a first for me – trying Danish food that is – and although the recipes are founded in his motherland, Chef Kevin puts a modern spin on all of the dishes. I loved the pork belly, charcoal butter and the exotic pickled vegetables combined with top quality charcuterie and homemade condiments like the mustard and horseradish cream. Particularly, I enjoyed the strawberry and foam dessert. It was so light yet deeply satisfying.
Plating is beautiful if a bit precarious with rocks camouflaged among potato and bread. I did get an essence of Denmark or at least I think I did. One of chilly air and rocky seas, a warmth which comes from rich and fatty caramelized pork or the intense earthy flavours taken from the native fauna and pickled roots. Or possibly I’ve just eaten the wrong country?
The menu is available for Lunch ( 900 ++ 3 courses) and a more extensive offering for Dinner (1,800++ 5 courses)
