Pinto for the Planet: Robinhood Launches “Robinhood RETURN” – An Eco-Friendly Delivery Initiative Led by Chefs Bo and Dylan of Bo.lan and ERR
Bangkok, Thailand – Robinhood, Thailand’s homegrown food delivery platform, takes a major step toward sustainability with the launch of “Robinhood RETURN”, a reusable pinto delivery campaign in collaboration with five of Bangkok’s most eco-conscious restaurants. Running from July 16 to August 15, 2025, the campaign is built on a simple yet powerful idea: Order – Deliver – Return.
Meals are delivered in reusable Thai pinto containers, and once finished, customers can schedule a convenient pickup through the Robinhood app. The containers are collected by a Robinhood rider—eliminating the need for disposable packaging and promoting a circular dining system.
The campaign brings together a group of restaurants: ERR, Appia, VIVIN Asok – café grocery bistro, Chita Yutaka Tei and Little Sunshine Café that are not only culinary leaders but also strong advocates of environmentally responsible practices.
-
ERR Urban Rustic Thai – From the team behind the acclaimed Bo.lan, ERR offers bold, heritage Thai dishes using local, seasonal ingredients. Founded by Chefs Bo Songvisava and Dylan Jones, ERR continues their mission of combining gastronomy with environmental consciousness, using minimal plastic and supporting local farmers.
-
Appia – A Roman trattoria by Chef Paolo Vitaletti, Chita Yutaka Tei, Appia is a long-standing Bangkok favourite, known for its soulful Italian cuisine with also integrates local Thai produce. With its focus on quality, community, and seasonality, Appia has consistently adopted greener kitchen and sourcing practices.
-
Chita Yutaka Tei – A Japanese restaurant founded by Chef Suphaphorn Suttilerd, Chita brings refined Japanese flavours to Bangkok with a deep respect for ingredient quality. The team takes sustainability seriously, with thoughtful sourcing and energy-efficient operations woven into the restaurant’s ethos.
-
VIVIN Asok – café grocery bistro – Known for its strong support of Thai artisanal producers, VIVIN is co-founded by Nicolas Vivin and Samantha Proyrungtong. The venue combines dining and grocery in one space, offering dishes made from natural, organic, and local products among local Thai cheese and charcuterie—many of which are also available to take home. Waste reduction and sustainability are at the core of their business model.
-
Little Sunshine Café – A warm, health-forward café created by Chef Utchima Sriprachya-anunt, Little Sunshine is dedicated to clean eating and planet-friendly living. From composting to eco-packaging, the café takes a hands-on approach to mindful food service.
A shared belief unites all five restaurants: great food can—and should—be kind to the planet.
The “Robinhood RETURN” campaign is supported by Purple Ventures Co., Ltd., the operator of Robinhood, as part of its broader goal to promote sustainable dining in Thailand. Customers can simply choose the “pinto” option when ordering from any of the participating restaurants on the Robinhood app, and arrange a free container pickup at their convenience.
Through this initiative, Robinhood hopes to make sustainable choices more accessible, turning everyday delivery into an act of environmental care.
Chef Bo Songvisava – On the Carbon Footprint of Pinto Collection:
“Some might ask, ‘Isn’t collecting the pinto adding more carbon emissions?’ And yes — to an extent, it does. But we still believe it’s the better choice, and here’s why.
Most single-use containers from food delivery end up in landfills, and landfills aren’t just passive spaces—they emit methane gas, which is around 25 times more potent than carbon dioxide when it comes to trapping heat in the atmosphere. Today, methane is one of the biggest contributors to global warming and climate change—even more so than CO₂.
So yes, returning the pinto container might mean a few extra kilometres for the rider. But in exchange, we significantly reduce the volume of waste contributing to dangerous long-term emissions. That’s the trade-off. That’s the reason we reuse. And that’s why this matters.”
