Food, glorious food! Located in the Boat Lagoon, Les Diables Patisserie & Restaurant serves a delicious array of cakes, chocolates and assorted pies. The restaurant’s menu features something for every palette including appetizers & light bites, homemade soups & pastas, and creative mains such as Salmon Florentine, Pesto Prawns and the classic favourite, Fish and chips.

Les Diables is modern and chic. With a strategic location next to the water, the restaurant boasts a very laid back vibe. It is an ideal spot for an intimate meal with someone special, or after work drinks and nibbles with a group of friends or colleagues.

A recent week night visit saw the restaurant comfortably cozy as my dining partner and I dug into the menu. We ordered drinks straight away, and the chilled glass of white wine at just 180 baht proved to be a wise choice and a generous pour. Our appetizer arrived almost instantly. The rocket tossed in balsamic vinaigrette on a bed of beetroot with shaved parmesan was an instant hit.

The flavours were a delicious blend, and the beetroot was thinly sliced and the definite showstopper of the dish. The salty parmesan, spicy rocket and sweet beetroot truly provided a mouthwatering salad mix.

Main courses consisted of two well plated dishes of ample portions. The crispy skin on the slow roasted pork belly cracked enticingly as it was cut into. The pork and vegetable medley were so substantial that the potato mash wasn’t necessary, but still a welcoming accompaniment. The apple sauce featured on the dish provided just enough sweetness, and really pulled the meal together.

The oven roasted herb and cream cheese stuffed chicken breast was prepared perfectly. The chicken was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Served alongside farmhouse vegetables and a bed of creamy, light mashed potatoes the dish was topped off with a rich, mushroom sauce. The entire dish was perfection, and the cream cheese really added a flavourful touch to the roasted chicken breast.

Our dinner was rounded out by decadent chocolates and truffles from the Gourmet Shop and of which the restaurant is famous for. The chocolates were so good, that my dining partner and I both took a variety of cakes and chocolates home. On a side note, the baked blueberry cheesecake is highly recommended!

Les Diables Patissserie & Restaurant is really good value for money. The quality of the food is second to none, the restaurant itself is well decorated and comfortable, and the wait staff are kind and knowledgable, as well as happy to explain menu items and throw in some favourite recommendations. No matter where you stay on the island of Phuket, Les Diables Patisserie & Restaurant is well worth the drive to the Boat Lagoon. Personally, I can’t wait to go back again!
