Le Boeuf Parisian Steakhouse

Bangkok Foodies Review – Le Boeuf

I’m sure we weren’t the only ones kicking ourselves for not thinking of it, an idea so simple it’s brilliant, and not yet launched in Bangkok. The French/Swiss staple which can turn any garcon into a grown man and vice versa is the Steak Frites. Just one style of main dish is served at Le Boeuf; the best cut of steak, with a side of bottomless fresh hot fries, salad and copious amounts of buttery green sauce maison bathing in the pink centered meat.

The flavours are bold yet elegant, simple yet rich. Expect butter, aggressive seasoning and a solid wine list to compliment the meat and fried potato hearty indulgence. They do also have entrees and desserts besides the mains. Do not, whatever you do, miss the locally produced Rum Foie Gras and Chocolate Cream Patisserie Profiteroles.

The oblong designed bistro feels fine French but warmth from the natural aging of previous tenants still exists.  Fortunate, as it makes for a welcoming and comfortable ambiance. Le Boeuf is surrounded by observatory type 360 degree windows which look out onto Bangkok’s well-to-do Langsuan road and the snazzy Marriott entrance. So you do feel cosy while enjoying your dose of boeuf and voyeurism.

We decided against a full-blown review as the restaurant has only been a week open and it’s just starting to find it’s legs. We believe though, after ironing out some kinks, Le Boeuf will soon be running its success all over town, but not like in a Moulin Rouge kind of way. So do go try for yourself and let us know what you think. I know of more than a few passionate homesick Europeans and lovers of L’Entrecote alike that will be all over this in a matter of meaty seconds. Good luck!

“Le Boeuf Sauce Originale du Relais is a Parisian bistro concept in the tradition of

Le Relais de L’Entrecote in Geneva. The owners of Le Boeuf Sauce Originale du Relais are now the proud custodians of the secret sauce recipe and they are bringing the enticing one-dish-wonder to Bangkok! “
