A Michelin-Starred Week At Banyan Tree Phuket with Catalan Chef Francesc Rovira
Michelin-Starred Chef Francesc Rovira, from La Fonda Xesc Restaurant, will be show casing his flair for a week in Thailand when he visits Banyan Tree Phuket this November.
La Fonda Xesc restaurant is located in Gombrén, a small town in the heart of the Catalan Pyrenees region of Ripollés.
The region is known for its mushroom-hunting but its cuisine is about much more than that. Chef Francesc’s culinary career started in the very same restaurant he runs today.
In, 1975, the restaurant’s kitchen was run by his mother and Francesc,12-years-old at the time, had to help out on the weekend, a few years later, Francesc developed a passion for food and pursued further studies at Escola d’Hosteleria de Barce-lona where he was able to see a different approach to doing things.
From there on,he has not only mastered Catalan recipes but went ahead with an innovative avant-garde approach to bring his region and its cuisine to the world stage.
Chef Francesc is set to be the third Michelin-starred chef to visit Banyan Tree Phuket in 2017 following the fruitful visits of Italian Andrea Asoli and German Stefan Heilemann.
Rovira will be orchestrating dinners at Banyan Tree Phuket’s Tre Restaurant from 16 – 20 November. Guests will be able to enjoy a three-course meal at THB 3,500 net per person as he serves nine different dishes each night.
Guests can also choose to pair their meals with selected beverages at THB 4,500 net per person. In addition, Chef Francesc will deliver an exclusive performance at The Watercourt’s celebrated Sunday Seafood Brunch on Sunday, November 19th. Prices start at THB 2,800 for food only.
