- Healthy Eating Is Happy Eating
Kumi Restaurant & Healthy Corner brings something good to the table: good food, good times and all the best benefits of a healthy lifestyle.
Healthy eating trends come and go, but eating well involves more than trying out the latest superfood or amazing diet plan. Healthy eating is a way of life. And that means ensuring the body benefits from wholesome and nutritio…us foods every day.
Yet, for many, that also means giving up the dishes and flavors most enjoyed. It means what’s long been assumed: healthy eating equals boring eating.
Kumi Restaurant & Healthy Corner changes the equation.
Over the years, Laurent and Thomas have gained in-depth knowledge of truly healthy cuisine. Among insights they acquired was that, although it’s certainly better to avoid a sedentary lifestyle, when it comes to bodily health, food is more important than exercise. Few can go to the gym every day, but all of us can eat well every day of the week.
Kumi’s owners also came to see that many misperceptions regarding healthy eating persist, for instance the notion of healthy eating being one salad after another. To these observations, they added careful study of the ways food groups interact and how the human body’s digestive system works. After taking into account all they’d learned and experienced, Laurent and Thomas set about creating a new kind of restaurant, one where an innovative menu is balanced, nutritious and undoubtedly delicious. And where the setting itself conduces not only to healthy eating but also to a healthy lifestyle in every respect.
They created Kumi, where healthy eating is Happy Eating.
Get Healthy, Get Happy
What is Happy Eating? Apart from aforementioned nutrition insights, the concept derives from Laurent’s and Thomas’ extensive travels. Over the years they noted the ways various international cuisines attain high nutritional value in dishes that are nevertheless flavorful and satisfying. While of course techniques and preparations vary widely, one element was constant across culinary cultures – the importance of fresh ingredients. Indeed, the use of a single fresh ingredient can make all the difference. For example, a simple burger can be made more nutritious by replacing processed ketchup with organic hummus or another fresh condiment or sauce. Likewise important is well-chosen ingredients fresh or otherwise. Again with the basic hamburger, a well-considered substitution of bread type can result in substantial calorie reduction yet not at the expense of taste.
Fresh and light are good, and Happy Eating is definitely good eating.
It’s also good times. Too often a healthy lifestyle means giving something up – not just the food you’d rather be eating but also the friends you’d rather be eating and socializing with. It’s unfortunately a fact: healthy-eating restaurants are sometimes joyless and drab affairs. That’s not so at Kumi. Guests enjoy a stylish and convivial setting in tree-lined Sathorn Soi 10 – and all amid a vibe that’s neither judgmental nor pious. Kumi is for good food, good friends and good fun.
Kumi likewise is where guests feel good about eating well. For many years before opening Kumi, Laurent and Thomas were actively involved in a number of charitable causes. They remain so as restaurateurs, and so guests can know the good they’re doing their health is doing good in another sense, namely in the form of contributions made and activities undertaken by the restaurant.Kumi – Happy Eating!
