Probably the Best Ribs in the World

A unique addition to the Patong Beach dining scene, Naughty Nuri’s serves up heaping portions of Balinese fusion food and straight from the grill delights. Famous for their scrumptious barbecue ribs, Naughty Nuri’s aims to please and provides a super fun dining experience that the whole family is sure to enjoy.

Originally from Bali and with the tagline, Probably the Best Ribs in the World, the most famous dish at Naughty Nuri’s is the popular Naughty Nuri’s 1995 Signature BBQ Spare Ribs. Marinated in Balinese spices, dipped in secret sauce and chargrilled to perfection, the ribs and sweet and tasty and an affordable 450THB.

The ribs are the perfect starter to nibble on while looking over the rest of the menu and taking the restaurant in. Naughty Nuri’s features an open plan layout. There is a well-stocked bar at the front of the restaurant and one closer to the back as well. Naughty Nuri’s features loads of beverages to wet your whistle, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, but two signature drinks truly stand out: Nuri’s Punch, which is a jug of sweet goodness, and the five flavors of Coladas including Classic, Strawberry, Passion Fruit, Mango and Raspberry.

The signature Coladas are sweet, refreshing, heavy on the alcohol and also come with a personal Naughty Nuri’s touch – anytime a Colada is ordered, the wait staff will circle around the table and put on an awesome song and dance show while making the Colada. It is a lively gesture that makes the Colada that much better!

The remainder of our order arrives quickly and while admiring the dishes, we glance back at the menu identifying everything we’ve ordered. Balinese Ayam Bertutu is flavorful fall-off-the-bone quarter chicken braised in a lush Rendang sauce served with four different Sambal sauces, Acar-Awak and caramelized onion rice. The flavors in this dish are bold, spicy and delicious. It’s obvious that the ingredients in this dish are extremely fresh which accompanies the tenderness of the chicken really well. The serving size of this dish is big enough for two, surprisingly, and it sets dines back just 350THB.

Enjoying the lively atmosphere of Naughty Nuri’s immensely, my dining partner and I ordered some more drinks and menu items. Wanting to sample a tiny bit of everything we settled on Naughty Nuri’s BBQ Satay Lilit and a delicious Naughty Nuri’s Signature Roast Pork Salad. The minced pork satay was loaded with Balinese spices and skewered on lemongrass sticks. One thing is for certain, serious flavors can be found at Naughty Nuri’s and the combination of marinades, sauces and spices used pack a powerful punch.

Last, but certainly not least, was dessert. Based on the description alone we chose the Bacon Chocolate Cake, which when arrived was a gooey delightful mess of chocolate cake, chocolate sauce, bacon bits and vanilla ice cream. Honestly, it was one of the most standout desserts I’ve had at a restaurant chain in a really long time and well worth ordering when you drop in.
