Bangkok’s feistiest Burger joint proprietor is turning over a new leaf. Quite literally. Poupée Paethanom, the queen of cursing and controversial burger talk has acquired the downstairs restaurant ( previously Mix and Munch ) and is converting her ways to serve healthy dishes!

There’s even mention of the ‘V’ and ‘G’ word on the menus. But never fear fatty pattie lovers, Bad Burger will continue to wreak burger havock upstairs as usual, and even better news, burger diners will be able to sit among their goodie two foods friends and lovers in perfect harmony.

Aptly named “For Fit’s Sake”, Poupée gives Bangkok Foodies an exclusive on her new restaurant opening.

FOR FIT'S SAKE

NAME FULL (NICKNAME): Panida Paethanom (Poupée)

BUSINESS NAME: For Fit’s Sake

OCCUPATION/POSITION: Owner/Chef

BUSINESS ADDRESS: 392/9 Between Sukhumvit 18 – 20 Klongtoey 10110 (Asoke BTS)

OPENING HOURS: 9AM – 11PM (12PM – 9PM for soft opening period)

BKF: Please explain to us a bit about the concept?

PP: It’s very simple and healthy food, I don’t want it to be anything fancy blah blah blah organic hippy stuff. But fit to individual’s dietary. Gluten free, Vegan, Vegetarian, leaning down, bulking up. It is difficult to find just simple food for ppl who work out. You don’t really want anything fancy. You just wanna stuff your face with yummy nutritions

FOR FIT'S SAKE

BKF: How did you come about getting this outlet?

PP: I took over a healthy restaurant downstairs of Bad Burger. Figured it is a great opportunity to have both kind of food for both markets.

BKF: Why did you decide to take it?

PP: It’s a damn good location.

ASOKE - FOR FIT'S SAKE - BAD BURGER BANGKOK

BKF: What did you choose to get into such a different concept from BAD BURGER?

PP: I noticed that some people eat burger once a week or once a month as their cheat meal. But still need to maintain their healthy diet most of the time. Instead of letting people go off somewhere else, I’d provide it. No, scratch that. I got fat and need a diet so I opened a healthy restaurant so I can eat for free.

BKF: Will it operate as 2 separate businesses or do you intend to share the space and have plenty of crossover?

PP: We share the space. You can sit anywhere and eat anything. Sometimes this person in the group want something different than the whole group (I know, there’s always one in every group).

BKF: What will you provide on your menu?

PP: Simple lean proteins cooked by sous-vide method so it’s still tender. Lean meats get tough and overcooked very easily. So this method helps it keeps its juice and nutritions. Carbs choices and mostly blanched vegetables.  More vegan stuff to come. I can say that Vegans who miss cheese will be very very happy with my vegan cheese platter. We also have fruit smoothies with no syrup added. Also looking into adding whey protein. Healthy salads and breakfasts.

FOR FIT'S SAKE

BKF: Price range?

PP: Start from 70THB for soups and main dish start from 180thb with big piece of meat, carbs and greens. Also, NET price

BKF: What are you plans for the place, now and future?

PP: I’ll just see how it goes. This concept is very new to me and I would like to see the feedback and see where do I go from there

FOR FIT'S SAKE

BKF: Will there be healthy burgers too?

PP: Our vegetarian burger is as healthy as it can be. I believe in go hard or go home. You go for either greasy cheat meal or healthy one. Mixing the two is not always the best.

COOKING BUN - BAD BURGER BANGKOK

BKF: Your official opening date?

PP: Soft opening for now from 12PM – 9PM. Not sure about official opening yet. Depends on how ready my staff and my menu are. We are slowly adding more stuff in at the moment. Especially for Vegans. They might have to wait a little bit. I want it to be great. But hopefully in December we’ll be full on.

BKF: Will you have to be a good (healthy) girl now?

PP: I’ve always had 2 sides in me. But has been a bit exhausted with opening Burger restaurant so I didn’t focus so much on the healthy side. I’ve started eating super healthy and work out hard when I got dumped a few years back lol.
