The #50BestTalks tea break was surprisingly one of the best highlights. It was refreshing to see how local traditional and ancient Chinese treats are put together, the Dragon’s beard had me absolutely engrossed. The story goes, an emperor was once demonstrated this stringy treat, through the process of repetitive stretching and winding of the sugary dough into tiny hair-like strands. The hairs were reminiscent of Dragon’s beards, to the Emperor, when the treat was playfully stuck to your upper lip. It then became the sweets of nobles, and spread throughout other regions of China, but over the times became much less commonplace, given its relative complexity but also for political reasons during that period. Although they do revive this incredible process for shows, fairs and tourists like us. I’m honoured to be tourist. 😊 Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants #BangkokFoodies #BangkokFoodiesTour #WynnPalace #Macau #Asias50Best #asias50bestrestaurants
